some thoughts / toyfair in Wettingen

Dear friends of antique toys and vintage articles

I tanslate my blogs wih deepl.com 10-20% edition rate then. That’s why sentences seem not always natural. Making own translations would be asked far too much as to hours accumulating.

Originally I announced here to write with high cadence blogs and so-called Toy-Reviews (not only highend, but also about toy-things – from German Spielzeug), to list articles, well, this is first of all a matter of will and secondly one of fitness. Not that I lack ideas or the breath, but some motivation would still be demanded. I made and filled this website last spring in a short time, with the initial help of my youngest brother, finally he motivated me, without him this would not have happened or would have taken place much later. 1000 thanks! Then there had to be four additional languages, because this is another passion of mine and I appreciate the contact with other language regions. According to the motto everything or nothing, or full throttle or idle throttle.  Now I am over the dead point and will try to present or write something new every now and then, to list articles, there is a photo archive with probably 200 articles ready.

At any time I am open also for inquiries concerning specific models. I also have a large collection, which won’t be visible here very soon, but not everything is sacrosanct there, so just ask.

Yesterday was the toyfair in Wettingen, for the first time in the transitional solution on the other side of the street. I was actually satisfied with the result, but only because I was able to meet the majority of the various wishes of a single customer. Nowadays it’s always the case that what’s on the table must match the customers who come along, if they come at all, and they must also have some money loose, the quality and the price must be right. In short, everything must be right in order that a result can be achieved. From noon on, however, almost nothing happened. (70 francs? …) The negative point at the toyfair was the “hot” dog of the Migros (probably biggest grocery store in Switzerland)  for 500 cents, in cold chewing gum bread. Further for me personally the missing of a great rarity offered by a visitor was not necessarily on the positive side. We were right at the entrance and the first ones, I was just absorbed, so my neighbour could buy this model. As we are friends, I really like he got it and it might not be out of reach after all. In the end, one or two red phases on traffic lights probably played the decisive role in the journey of this model, that is, whether it came to me or to my colleague. What is always enriching are interesting conversations with visitors, be it specifically about toys, about the development of the market, as well as about personal topics, if you had got to know each other better.

Here’s my post on Twitter and unfortunately bad pictures:
